Violence In Queerness

Queerness isn’t clean. It’s torn fishnets, spit in the mouth, a kiss with teeth. It’s the wound that never scabs over and maybe that’s the point. They told us we were unnatural, violent, dangerous. So we became all three. If we bleed, we do it loud. If we suffer, we turn it into spectacle. This is a mediation on the intimacy between queerness and violence : how it marks us, frees us, and sometimes, feels like home.
